4. Different Signs Rule

In this exercise, you will learn to apply the “Same Signs” rule to evaluating directed numbers. Before attempting the exercise, make sure you know the following guidelines:

1. The “different signs” rule only applies to directed numbers that havedifferent signs (+ or – ).
2. Sign: Using the different signs rule, the answer takes the sign of the bigger sized number.
3. Size: To get the size, perform [bigger sized number] – [smaller sized number].
